You would think that after having passed through the Dunes, and many other things after that, that people would know such things as crabs have high defense and lowering it will help the melee in your party.
At 52 Monk, I took a party invite to fight Robber Crabs. Both the black mage and scholar were casting Bio II and then Dia II. After repeated attempts to tell them that bio lowers attack and overwrites dia, and that these mobs have high defense and the melee are having a hard time damaging them as a result, so please only cast dia, I had the scholar say to me "I know they dont stack, but i'm casting both to get the extra DoT damage." ... what? If you know they dont stack, then why are you trying to stack them? Yes, bio 2 does more damage on its own than dia II does- but dia 2 helps the 4 melee hitting the crab to do more damage, which far outweighs what bio II is doing. After a while of not understanding for some reason why I was so flustered, he left, and appeared to think I didn't know what I was talking about after playing this game for 5 years. One would have hoped that upon this person leaving, the party would improve, however the black mage (sub white mage) continued to cast bio- and since most of our damage was coming from Enblizzard (and not even our actual phyiscal attacks) and the Black mage still wouldnt cast dia, any EXP we might have been gaining ground to a halt.
Ok guys- Dia is preferable to Bio in a melee-heavy party. Got that? Dia and Bio don't stack. So PLEASE, don't try to cast both. I'm gonna go get a cookie.
